Past research projects and R&D activity:

WG-WPS - WG Wireless Positioning System

Developed in colaboration with Nonius Software, this project aims to the development of a wireless positioning system based on standard WiFi tags and in a WiFi strucured environment. Navigation algorithms and technlogical issues were under research. The project results were integrated in commercial applications and services provided by Nonius Software.

MUV - Navegação e Controlo Integrados de Múltiplos Veículos Submarinos

This project was developed by a consortium with the Faculty of Engineering of Oporto University and aimed to develop a control and navigation system for coordinated multiple autonomous underwater vehicles using a common acustic infrastructure for positioning.

KOS - Kit Operações Subaquáticas

This project under the lead of APDL (Douro and Leixões Harbour Authority) and in partership with LSA/ISEP and USTL/FEUP (Underwater Systems and Technology Lab for Faculty of Engineering Porto Universisty) aims to develop underwater robotic systems for inspection and operation in structured harbour environments.

Project PISCIS research and development subcontract

Under a research subcontract, LSA provided several solutions in the context of project PISCIS leaded by APDL and in partnership with USTL/FEUP for the development of multiple underwater robotic systems for monitoring and inspection tasks. LSA expertise in autonomous surface vehicles and embedded computer systems and electronics was incorporated in the project development.
